Tularemia
The Summit County Dept. of Public Health contacted us about Tularemia on 11.20.2014.

- Two out of three beavers found dead in Summit County tested positive for Tularemia.
- Small mammal die-offs have been reported from at least 27 Colorado counties, and animals from 12 counties have tested positive for Tularemia.
- A cat with Tularemia was identified in Montrose County. The cat was known to hunt wildlife.
- Pets that contact or ingest sick or dead rabbits or other wildlife, that are bitten by vector deer flies or ticks, or that ingest contaminated water are at risk of Tularemia exposure.
